17 years ago I could have benefited from a guide like this. Today, people are still being suckered into home business opportunities that are nothing more than money games, pyramids, here-today-gone-tomorrow schemes and also business opportunities that are to complex for the unskilled to make a lot money.

Find a mentor you can connect with. Someone who is willing to lead you and has a financial interest in your success. Your mentor will have a system that you can duplicate to establish your own credibility and leadership immediately to get results fast.

Make sure that the products being sold are legitimate and valuable products that people would purchase without a business opportunity attached to it. Also insure that the product isn’t available at a local store. Evaluate how the product(s) will be distributed, by you or automatically by a fulfillment house. If by you this can be very time consuming, and your initial profits may not cover the expense of your time and resources.

You want to make sure the marketing system can be duplicated by anyone. If you have to recruit family or friends, purchase leads, or prospecting leads (dial for dollars) don’t complicate your life with that business opportunity. The system and your mentor should have for you plug-in marketing strategies. Your customers will contact you or make a purchase automatically.

Insure that the people and/or company you are partnering with are not charging you monthly fees for things like websites or leads. You want to have your own hosted website to take advantage of the best advertising opportunities. Monthly fees will mount and can brake the bank before you are profitable, stay away from them.

Your website should do all the selling, explaining and presentations. Very few people are good at selling. Do allow people to contact you though, most people just want to connect with you to verify that you are real.

Bills must be paid, food and other necessities must be provided for the family. Some Asian countries were shut down for six months during a pandemic. What could happen during this swine flu pandemic? Do you have the time and financial resources needed if this affects your job or you?

A pandemic is the worst kind of adversity a national community has to endure. It affects our world community, personal lives, and businesses. Our daughter quickly became aware of, as we stood in line outside on a cold and windy morning from about 3 a.m., that her competitors are also very talented and committed to pursue their passions.

Some concerns on the minds of  a lot people is the fact that if they get selected and advance to additional auditions and levels in the competition with a slim chance of actually getting one of the top 5  spots were:

1. “My job won’t let me off during the week for this”
2. “I don’t know how I’m going to feed my family if I take off from work”
3. ” I don’t have the money for travel”

We are grateful that our home business doesn’t  hold us back from whatever we want to do.

Our daughters private singing lessons brought forth this opportunity and recommendation to attend the America’s Got Talent audition on Saturday in Seattle, Wa. She sang “Castle On A Cloud” from the “Les Miserables” soundtrack.

At 10 years old, I believe that our daughter is much more aware of the commitment it takes to reach her goals.

Even if our daughter doesn’t win the talent competition she has opened the door for other opportunities.

We met lots of great people, planned for future trips, and did some site seeing.

• Value (your ability to help people do things that they are not able to do for themselves yet)
• Commitment (being bound to lead yourself and others to the desired result)

Your leadership qualities will determine how successful you are at moving people to become your customer and/or your business partner.
